about
Second teaser track from "Restaurant at the End of the Gloomy Verse"
lyrics
I know a guy called maggot mouth, his breath smells bad but he’s always seemed nice to me
Despite his teeth
Ol’ Maggot Mouth Marv went and started a band, he’s a real good musician, but no one sat in the front row when Marv played shows
Marv played his heart out on guitar in the bar, but his death smell breath smell made everyone get the hell right out of there
He figured the people in his little home town, wouldn’t know good music if it ran em down
They’re deaf, so he got up and left
Maggot Mouth Marv booked a cross the states tour, brought his crusty six string the smell of the sewer in his mouth, and he headed south
All of his shows went the same, what a shame, but this new fan tracked his van, enamoured with this stinky man, and his creepy crawly mouth
Old Maggot Mouth’s playing a show by himself
Everyone had to leave
The room cleared out, and I started to doubt if he noticed me
At the back on a chair with a mesmerized stare,
I was overcome with joy
Cuz I got the same critters hanging out in my spitter
Now I see there’re other maggot mouths like me
At another failed show I took Marv aside, told him all about my problems with stage fright
I said, we should do something else instead
I told him it’s his breath that’s making em go, but no one can smell yeah through the radio
Let’s go, let’s start a radio show
When people couldn’t smell our breath they loved us to death, made some LPs one two three easy we sold these, but we don’t play shows, No we don’t play shows
Now Old Maggot Mouth’s playing a show by himself
But nobody has to leave
They just listen in their cars and they listen at work to 91.3
I’m beside him in a chair with a mesmerized stare
I’m overcome with joy
Because I got the same critters hanging out in my spitter
And now I see, there are other maggot mouths like me
